Anteaters for Recovery is a new program at UCI and is intended for students who identify themselves as being in recovery. This could be recovery from alcoholism, drug addiction, eating disorders, growing up in an alcoholic family, or any other life altering situation that someone could be in recovery from. Join this safe and confidential space to share or listen and support. All meetings led by a pro staff member also in recovery. Anteaters for Recovery is a safe space for students to gather and support each other in their recovery journey, but is not intended for group counseling or therapy.

Join our Alcohol Awareness Class to help you better understand alcohol consumption and its place in your life as a college student. Learn to navigate campus drinking culture responsibly, understand BAC management, and identify lower-risk drinking practices. Gain vital skills in ensuring the safety of your peers, recognizing signs of alcohol poisoning, and responding to emergencies effectively. Our class, bound by the principle of confidentiality and communal learning, aims to not just inform but transform, making you a proactive part of a safer campus community. Join us to make informed decisions that protect both your academic journey and social life.

Mindful Mondays @ Cross Cultural Center, Ring Room

Join us every Monday for Mindful Mondays!

Every Monday will be a different mindfulness practice such as meditation, mindful movement, loving-kindness meditation, and many more. Mindfulness has been scientifically proven to help us cope with life’s stressors. Some of the benefits include anxiety reduction, enhanced sleep, improved mood, and increased ability to focus.

No previous experience necessary and great for beginners. Participants will receive an essential oil roller to carry their mindfulness practice with them wherever they are.

Wednesday Wellness Walk: Mason Park @ Meet Outside Zot N' Go

Wednesday Wellness Walks are a bi-weekly walking excursion to local points of interest near UCI. We’ll visit various parks and nature preserves that are right here in our backyard, all while incorporating mindfulness and ecological education! The walks are open to all students, faculty, and staff.

In our warm and interactive environment, attendees delve into the essential balance of caring for their minds, bodies, and communities. UCI is among first U.S. campuses to adopt the Okanagan Charter

The University of California, Irvine was among the first eight U.S. campuses to adopt the Okanagan Charter on September 1, 2021.  By doing so, the campus has committed to making wellbeing an institutional value, as it becomes globally recognized as a Health Promoting University. The Charter provides common language, a clear set of principles, and an aspirational framework to put wellbeing at the center of everything we do as an institution.  There are currently almost 200 campuses who are part of the U.S. Health Promoting Campuses Network, and almost 20 campuses have officially adopted the Charter. Read more…
